ESG Reporting Flow Meter Applications

Flow Meters Track ESG Emissions and Fuel Consumption Metrics

Companies that choose to set Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) goals care about their long-term impact on the world. Although the specific environmental goals that companies set may vary, they generally follow the same path – to reduce their carbon footprint by reducing GHG emissions and/or consumption of fossil fuels.

However, implementing measures to record progress on meeting company ESG goals can be daunting. Fox Thermal mass flow meters provide cost-effective solutions for tracking and reporting environmental goals.

More Details About ESG Reporting Flow Meter Applications

The concept of ESG - or Environmental, Social, and Governance - has become more important to oil & gas, manufacturing, agricultural, and industrial companies in recent years. Companies will publish their goals and report on progress for each of these areas in support of their Sustainability initiatives.

Investors have begun to incorporate these non-financial factors into their standard financial reporting and risk management analyses when determining risk and growth opportunities for a company.

For ESG sustainability reporting, flow meters are increasingly being used to help companies meet their Environmental goals. Thermal mass flow meters from Fox Thermal can be used to track natural gas consumption or greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions at many types of industrial facilities. These ESG metrics can be recorded, analyzed, and published online to demonstrate their energy or emissions reduction efforts.

ESG Criteria

Environmental criteria may include how a company performs as a steward of nature. Socially responsible criteria can encompass a company’s relationships with its employees, supply chains, customers, and the communities in which it operates. Governance criteria are based on internal leadership, executive pay, audits, internal controls, and shareholder rights.

Large companies involved in the oil and gas industry have more frequently encountered the review of ESG criteria being applied to the vendor acceptance process. This may include a requirement of ESG reporting to disclose how a company is implementing ESG strategy into their operations or how well they are meeting their company ESG goals.

Advanced Data Logger for ESG Reporting Flow Meter Applications

To prove that companies are meeting their ESG sustainability performance goals, they must first develop a baseline of current greenhouse gas emissions or fossil fuel consumption. Then, they must monitor the change over time to demonstrate progress.

For this reason, instrumentation that can track ESG data over time is instrumental for data collection. The Fox Thermal Model FT4X flow meter offers an advanced data logger with a time/date stamped alarm and event log with a 7-year history, as well as a power-off totalizer so that any power failure creates an event log entry.

The logs in the Model FT4X Data Logger also give information about the meter’s settings and functionality, including the gas or gas mix composition and Calibration Validation historical test data. Users can view and print logs of events and alarms.
